Regular tool sharpening can prevent multiple problems on automated benders, such as jamming due to burrs on the rule, tools being stuck in the “down” position and excessive wear that leads to tool replacement. When tools are not sharpened and/or replaced over long periods of time, damage can occur to the punching unit which will result in costly repairs. Proper sharpening using factory specifications can keep miter and perf “tips” straight and clean for good rule joining and perf that will not tear packaging dies.
